We are William & Karen Pimlott, market gardeners by trade, standing farmers markets in Lancashire, Cumbria & Merseyside, with our own home grown seasonal produce.
William won Tameside Farmers Market trader of the year in September 2005.
Pimlotts poultry was founded in 2003… after being given some hatching eggs, from a man who has been in the fancy for many a year, & successfully hatching them, Pimlotts poultry was born.
A friend who had shown poultry came to have a look at our birds and in early 2004 talked us in to showing ours too, we found we had some really nice birds that started winning us an odd card or two. By the end of 2005 we had won quite a few red cards, a best in section & a best in show.
Last year we had around 12 breeds of poultry, although we will still keep the old favourites, we are concentrating on our Australorp bantams, Faverolle bantams (five colours) & our bantam Croad Langshans in 2006.
After a disappointing end to the year in 2005 with the Federation show & National being cancelled, we are hoping that our birds will do us proud in 2006, so if you don’t know the name Pimlotts Poultry now, hopefully you will do !!
