We get many letters & e mails from people who have had birds from us over the years letting us know how they are getting on, and how much pleasure they have brought them.
This is one e mail that we recently recieved in April 2010 that made us smile, and would like to share.
Maybe if you are just thinking about getting some 'girls' this lovely e mail from the Lambert family will help you make up your mind.

Many thanks to the Lambert family for letting us publish their e mail on our site.

Last year on the 4th of July William and your son Ben came to our home to bring my son Mark his birthday present, three little girls of yours.

Well these girls have now grown into the most beautiful little ladies.

Mark called the bluebell, Bella, the Black Rock, Starr and the Warren Rosie.  They are delightful, very pampered, we all love them and spend ages with them every day. They have the whole of our land to do what chickens do. I have no bedding plants and plenty of potholes but who cares they are having a great time. They are out for 12 hours a day and go to bed at the same time before dark and are locked and bolted up safely.  My hubby and sons also go out during the evening with the torch to make sure everything is fine.
Bella loves singing in the morning at the top of her voice. She is very vocal and is the best guard chicken ever!  If anybody comes up the driveway, we know before the doorbell has been rung.  The boy next store lost his rabbit but we knew where it was because Bella found it and was shouting at it.  I remember asking William if they would be alright with our very large ginger cat Amber, he just laughed and said chickens can take care of themselves, oh how true, the poor cat is petrified of Rosie and Bella but Starr is the most placid chicken very tame and she and the cat will drink out of the same water bowl.  My older son Paul does the water every day and so the girls don't have to walk too far for a drink as there are six drinking stations in the garden.

They cheer you up if you are down and their antics are so funny.  They each have a personal stone flower pot that used to have pansies and violas in (they have eaten them) well these are chickens jacuzzis.  They get in there for a dust bath. soil flying everywhere, sometimes all three are in the same pot.  You can almost imagine them saying, get that beak out of my eye.  You've got your foot in my ear, if you stand on me once more I'll burst you.  I love late afternoon just sitting with the girls and they start all their trilling noises, all settled down right beside you. I will send you some photographs next time I write.  I have just got a laptop and learning how to use it.

I hope all the family is well and your chooks.

Thank you again for these lovely little lives who have made us so happy.

Maureen, Paul, Pauly and Mark Lambert, also Bella, Starr, Rosie and Amber the cat.
